Where to begin...I must admit that I was nervous and hesitant to go on an ACTS retreat, but I saw what good it did for Heather. I figured I could use that kind of change in my life. I went into it with a closed mind and did not believe it could make a difference on me, but was I wrong. The bus ride over I did a lot of thinking and all I could remember was Heather telling me to go with a open mind and open heart. You would not believe how many times I heard that, but if you want to experience something different then that is what you must do.
I thought that I would be quiet and keep to myself, come on thats my personality. Immediately after crossing the river I felt the presence of God. I found myself making friends and sharing things that I really haven't ever told anyone. The retreat is about religion and strengthening your relationship with God and I also got more out of it than that. My boss (who I really look up to) wrote me a letter about accomplishing things and at the end he told me how important it was that I was "taking time off to reflect upon what is most important part of your life, your soul." That is what I took from ACTS and really hearing stories to make me realize how good I have it and a awesome insight on the correct way to live life. To cut a really, really long story short I would recommend this experience to anyone, it was amazing.
"I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another." -John 14:34
Being there the most important thing that I learned was the importance of love in your life and the importance of adoring Christ. Again, I got so much from being apart of ACTS.
