"He said to them, "come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile".."~ Mark 6:31
On Tuesday we woke up and headed West (Fredericksburg!) Our first stop was in Stonewall at Gold Orchards for some Peach Ice Cream!! It's my favorite and when I worked at the Bank I would get it like 3 times a week. I have always told Gerald about it but he's never had any..so we stopped for some!
Then we headed to this place!! Gerald has been wanting to go for sometime so we set the day aside to go! I was dreading something so boring but I *really* need to work on having a broader spectrum of things to do!
Gerald walking through George Bush Gallery! Such a cool place!!
A real life submarine--this room was a reinaction -of sorts- of the day Pearl Harbor was bombed.
These were fun "Para scopes" it twisted in circles and you had to find the enemy ships! It was cute!
This was my favorite part of the entire museum! There were three POW's that were ordered to burn the flag that was flying. Before burning it they removed the 48 stars and hid them. For the next 42 months they were moved from camp to camp but continued hiding the stars. Shortly before they were released they used an old nail, an old sewing machine, and red material from a parachute and of course the stars to create this flag! When they were rescued this was the flag flying! Such an awesome sense of pride!!
Gerald really enjoyed the planes throughout the entire museum! This one was at the end, where there was victory movie celebrations playing all around the room we were in! This museum was really cool and neat! And the photos make it look short but it took us about 3 hours to quickly go through it!
We ended our day watching Kelsey play volleyball, and with dinner at West End--my FAVORITE pizza place!!
As I said--the intention of Gerald's vacation was for pure relaxation! He spent all day Wednesday doing this--and I reading!! And then we went to church! Perfect day!
On Thursday we went to Kerrville to get some updated photo's taken by Elly Wilson--she is trying to start a business and offered an awesome deal!!
One of our favorites!!
Our final stop (in Kerrvile) that day was to the James Avery headquarters! It's HUGE--I totally was expecting something big but not a big or peaceful as it was! We got a tour of how our Jewelry is made--pretty interesting but to make a long story short--it starts as a piece of wax!
Then goes to the worker bee's where they detail it!
Friday was more reading and video games and then a party celebrating the end of Gerald's Staycation! Complete with a Vacation Cake and all the works!! I love ANY reason to celebrate!
We totally enjoyed relaxing together all week long!!

Lol, just plain cute!
