Our Garden.

So the moment we moved in here we, mainly Gerald, were so excited to plant a garden. Well--Life Happened and we decided we were for sure to busy to maintain a garden, and changed our minds. Well- we went to Super S for milk and came home with tomatoes, bell peppers, chili peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe and cucumbers! We VERY spontaneously decided to have a garden!! Seriously Though-- throughout Gerald's childhood they always had a garden. He has wanted one so badly that last year he used the tin can from popcorn during Christmas to plant a tomatoe in--it died! So it seems fitting for us to have a Garden and hopefully some day share that with our little boys & girls too!!
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. ~ John 15:1

I am missing some photo's because Gerald was doing this so fast--even started without telling me!!! This really is his project!! Anyways- he says he started by measuring the ground with his feet and then scraping all the grass off the surface with a broken shovel (he REALLY wants everyone to know the shovel was broken!). Then- because we don't have a tiller- he used a pick to break the ground up...

Then after that was done we used a shovel and fertilized the dirt..

Then he used the broken shovel to pack the dirt down and create rows and we started planting!

Our finished project!! Now it's just about being patient waiting for it to grow!! I can't wait!!!
Gerald is truly loving his Garden! These days you can find him sitting at the steps that lead to the Garden! Talking to the dog or counting how many cucumbers are growing (the cucumbers were the only seeds we planted!) It makes me so happy knowing the peace and comfort he gets from something as simple as a his Garden!

And simply because I am so far behind on blogging here is an updated picture! Taken today (514/10)! It sure is growing! I think the tomatoes have blooms on them!!
