Memorial Day, Halloween and Everything in Between!

Wowzers! Has it seriously been nearly SIX MONTHS since my last blog?? Well- the Holidays are coming and I am starting to stress out that I won't be able to blog the new stuff because I still haven't blogged the old stuff. Let's get started.. Six Months in our life! This means that I have to take y'all through nearly two seasons, Summer and Fall (My Favorite!)

And to start off with, one of my favorite Bible passages that helps to remind me to be patient!
There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.
A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak.
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

With every ending there is a new begining and that is just what May brought! We started having lots and lots of BBQ's and inviting people over all the time! We really enjoyed the space the backyard gave us along with the pretty green grass.I love to fill our yard, home, car, basically everything, with the people we love and that is what the summertime brought!
We spent Memorial Day enjoying the Pedernales Falls with Jaime and Claudia and Taylor!
Then after that we went home for a BBQ, only to find out our Water was out!! So not cool, it was a minor problem with the well and the beat went on! Even Uncle Curt and Beau stopped by for this gathering. I love these two pictures because they perfectly portrays them! Especially Uncle Curt with his Lime Yellow Shirt lovin' on Beau!

We finished the little league season off with Chase. This year Gerald ended up being more of a spectator than a Coach but none the less we enjoyed being there just to give him a hug after the game. And we got some good time in with Ryan. You can definitely see this little boys improving and becoming more competitive.

We paused our lives long enough to go and enjoy Gruene Texas and the Guadalupe River with Celeste and Adolfo, and then that week the river flooded! Glad we were able to enjoy it before then. Those are Celeste's toes in the camera..so that means all of us were in the photo. At the beginning of the trip I was so worried about everybody staying "safe" through the rapids, and not losing anything. The first rapid came and I wiped out, and lost my sunglasses :(..actually Kelsey's sunglasses.

We also got to hang out with this little guy a lot. Myles is so cute and lovable and listens so well! We surely consider him to be one of the greatest blessings in our lives!

Then we were so lucky to get to spend about three weeks with the Arizonian's or is it Arizonites?? Again we had BBQ's, and lots of food, and fun in the backyard!

While Kris and PJ were here Charlotte was so nice to let us borrow her lake house for the weekend! We enjoyed playing innocent basketball, some tense four square and some CRAZY ridiculous Capture the Flag, and I can't forget the exciting Monopoly game at the end of the night that went into the morning. Kelsey ended up winning by default and only because Kris went bankrupt and gave her all his money!

I think this is one of my all time favorite pictures!!

We can't quite remember if it was the beginning or end of July but poor little Kerbe (our fish) finally bit the dust. As awful as I am, he died of starvation because we couldn't remember to buy him food :(. If you consider fish years this guy was pretty old, we got him in December 2007 and he Died July 2010 so that's like 2 1/2 years!
We celebrated July Fourth with a little gathering at our house, and another BBQ!
Our Old Navy Tradition!

We went to the Spange Dangle and watched the very impressive show and then we went home for the real Grand finale :) July Fourth always puts such a pep in my step and makes me feel so proud, blessed, and Free!

July marked the end of our Garden. I guess the heat just got to much to bear for it, but it produced great up to then! I was just happy that Gerald was able to have something from his childhood! It was nice to go out there with him in the evening and share our stories of growing up and being in the Garden!

The tomatoes and bell peppers produced the best! I made some Fried Green tomatoes (after I had to literally BEG to pick the green tomatoes) and they were so yummy!

The end of July really picked up for me at school. That's when we stared our clinical's at the Kerrville State Hospital, they were twelve hour days twice a week. It was a good transition/taste of what "real work" is going to be like. I totally enjoyed my Mental Health rotation and find myself contemplating that as my permanent area!
August celebrated Kelsey's fifteen years...seriously?

And planned for her first time as a Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Contestant.

She looked absolutely purty--but don't tell her I said that!
And the beginning of September was another whirlwind! But Gerald and I did celebrate our 6th year together! We got a good deal from Groupon for the
Emerald Restaurant in Austin and then we were lucky enough to get an awesome deal at Barton Creek Resort and Spa from Hotwire! The resort was wonderful with gorgeous nature trail and incredible service. And (oh my goodness!) the food at the Emerald was unbelievable and the Service was super personal!
Celebrating Number Six!

At the beginning of October we took Darnell to a Spur's open practice and got tickets for two games, so for three weeks in October Darnell and Gerald enjoyed watching the Spurs kick off there season!

And of course the BIG event in Ocotber was the celebration of my 22nd Birthday with a simple get together at our house with a yummy meal from Grandma!

And certainly last but not least we celebrated Halloween. It finally got to cold to have BBQ's so we substituted it for Chili! I love Halloween because it is the gateway to the rest of the Holidays!! Which I can't wait for, we have already started taking measurements and designing our yard decorations for Christmas, but I guess we need to get through Thanksgiving first!
