Thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!
"In all circumstances give thanks,
for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

First and foremost I am thankful for God's everlasting love. Forever and always we will be eternally thankful for the pain and suffering he endured on Calvary so that we would live.

I have been given so many blessings in life and today and all days my heart overflows with Thanks. I have been blessed with Gerald. I can truly say with all the conviction in my heart, I don't know what path I would have chosen had Gerald not come into my life. He seriously changed me in ways unimaginable. His love for me has healed so many hurts and I will be forever thankful to him. To our life together.

I have been blessed with these two + Kris. I think that we all share an unspoken, untouched bond. They are me and I am them. Lots of things in our lives have come and gone yet we have stayed. I am Thankful for Kris and the leadership and dedication that he shares, I am thankful for Darnell for the pure love and honesty he shares I am thankful for Kesley for the laughter she shares, and simply that through Kelsey God has blessed me with a Sister to share all of the pretty and ugly things in life.

I am thankful for Grandma. Grandma is such an example of hard work and family ties. We all know that under her tough cover she is soft as a teddy bear. Her belief in family and the importance of being together will always be one of my life's greatest teachings. For that I am thankful.
Thankful for this table because for many many years it has brought the Barrientes family together. I am thankful for My mom, though her choices have not always been the best, she has done the best she knows. I heard this quote: "People will do the best they can when they can." Maybe then my Mom didn't have her best but now she does and for that I am Thankful. I am Thankful that today I got to sit at this table with her sharing memories and making new memories.

I am thankful for the simple pleasures of this life that often get overlooked, like the warmth of my house, the cold drink in the fridge, the blankets that drape the couch, the shoes on my feet, the food in my fridge, the car in my driveway, the clothes on my back, our neighbors...

The dirt on the ground, the green grass, the blue sky, the sun, the moon, the stars, the falling leaves, the memories of our life, our {borrowed and barking} Sealy...the giving hearts of others, the spirit of the holidays, the ability to go to Church, the people that have been put in our lives, the opportunity to serve others..
What I am most thankful for aren't the things of this life, they are the feelings of this life. The ability to even be Thankful, , for the future, for sharing, for peace, for anger, for hurt, for faith, for love, and for hope.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and were able to spend it where they felt the pureness of the day. We did.

As Thanksgiving comes to an end I sit smugly cuddled up on my couch listening to the UT vs A&M game, Being Thankful and Smiling because tonight I get to go brave the black Friday sales and tomorrow I get to light up our house!

Gerald--with his fear of heights--climbed to the top of our roof yesterday and hung our Christmas lights up! Thanks.
